We are excited to welcome Stephanie Union as 1girl’s new Executive Director!
Stephanie’s experience, skills, and passion will help move our mission forward to reach more women and girls.
Stephanie comes to 1girl with more than 15 years of experience as a lawyer in Central Ohio. She has been involved with numerous non-profit organizations as a volunteer and Board member. We can’t wait to see all that she accomplishes and the impact we are able to make with her spearheading our work.
Stephanie shared a note about her excitement to start this work:
I am excited about the prospects for growing 1girl to serve more girls. I see huge potential in the direction we are headed. I’m thrilled that I get to be a part of that new potential and even more pleased that I get to lead the way towards these new possibilities. I am honored that the Board has entrusted me to spearhead new efforts and growth, and I take that responsibility seriously.
I have always championed non-profits that support women and children, so 1girl was a perfect match for me! Even before being selected as the new Executive Director, I had been a supporter of 1girl for a few years. It struck a nerve with me since I am the mother to two children, including a girl now in fifth grade (1girl’s prime audience). I know that girls especially are vulnerable during this in their lives and anything that can be done to make it easier or to give them more confidence in this vital period will translate into life-long gifts for them and their communities. The mission of 1girl is to eliminate the gender leadership gap by providing development to girls through a proven curriculum. This is a mission that is very easy for me to support, and I intend to do so zealously through my new position.
Please feel free to reach out to Stephanie at any time to introduce yourself, ask questions, or learn more about 1girl. She can be reached at [email protected] or 614-561-7656.
