We love spotlighting young girls who are doing amazing things!
Meet Asia Newson. This 11-year-old “kidpreneur” from Detroit is turning heads, not only because of her successful business, but also because of her bright, optimistic, and inspirational personality.
At a young age, Newson knew that she was supposed to do something great. “Since I was about 4 or 5-years-old, I’ve always had, like, the vibe, or, like, I don’t know, little power ball that keeps me going,” Asia told ABC News’ “20/20” in an interview.
That “vibe” and little power ball inside of her sparked a passion, a desire, and lots of hard work towards her very own candle-selling business, Super Business Girl. Newson is the co-founder and CEO of SBG and often approaches strangers on the street to sell them homemade candles so that she can make a profit that goes to her school and business, as well as clothes and food for children in need in Detroit. Talk about giving back to the community!
Newson is encouraging those who have a dream to never give up and to always keep pushing yourself to do better. She is an inspiration to those who want to make a difference in their communities, showing us that little girls with dreams grow up to be women with visions.
