Husine has broken out o her shell and found her voice since being here at the Salvation Army. When we first met her, she was very quiet and softspoken, but now she isn’t afraid to speak up and share her ideas, passions, and thoughts with us and the rest of the group. 1girl has given her a chance to express and identify herself more, which has allowed her to develop a sense of self-awareness she was previously lacking.
1girl has changed Husine from a passive learner to an active learner. She is always asking questions for clarification to make sure she is doing something right. She wants to do her very best and has an intense desire to learn. She is also always willing to hear the opinions of others and seeks to understand what they think about a certain issue. It’s inspiring seeing her wanting to learn and put effort in to become a better student and person, and she is only in the 4th grade! Traits and characteristics like those go a long way, and they will give her even more benefit as she continues to get older and wiser.
When Husine grows up, she wants to be a school counselor. She wants to help people become better and see that there is so much in life to live for. She has a big heart that is filled with so much compassion, kindness, and love.
We hope you enjoyed learning more about Husine as much as we did. To know more about our girls and other programs that we run at 1girl, sign up for our e-newsletter for regular updates and exciting news.
