Intern Success: Corinne Murphey

unnamedby Kris Crews

We love seeing women succeed, especially when it is a previous intern of 1girl. Corinne Murphy has taken the skills she learned as a grant writer at 1girl and has used them to help land herself a full-time grant writing job. We couldn’t be more excited for her success!

Murphy is now the Grant Coordinator at Cincinnati Union Bethel (CUB). CUB is the longest running social service agency in Cincinnati. It consists of three programs:

  1. Early childhood education with three Head Start preschools, which prepare 3-5 year olds for kindergarten.
  2. The Anna Louise Inn, which provides safe and affordable housing for women.
  3. Off the Streets, which provides service for prostituted women.

We believe that leadership, success, and female empowerment are important. It’s important to Murphy as well, and she believes that working with CUB will help her reach her full potential.

“I’m beyond excited to help this organization raise people up and realize their full potential. Female empowerment is something so important to me, and CUB is making such a powerful impact on the women who have suffered – helping them heal, regain independence, and reclaim power over their own lives,” says Murphy.

It’s good knowing that Murphy will be in the best of hands. We consider ourselves lucky to have had her as one of our interns.

“Cincinnati Union Bethel is making such an important, positive impact in the same city where I grew up. 1girl has helped me learn so much about nonprofits and grant writing, and I can’t wait to apply everything I’ve learned,” says Murphy.

We are beyond thrilled and excited to see her grow even more and we know that she will continue to spread positivity and do great things.
