Isabelle is an excited and determined young woman. When her first project idea didn’t work out, she had no hesitation before jumping into another one. A fourth grader, Isabelle has a variety of interests including photography and giving back to the community. For her project, she wants to work on developing her photography skills so that one day she can travel around the world as a photographer. She is starting out with just her iPod, but she hopes to soon have her own camera to take pictures. We have connected her with photographers from around Columbus to teach her some of the basics. With the pictures, she wants to write stories to make books for children in the hospital. Because her step cousin had leukemia, she knows that when children go to the hospital, they have to miss a lot of school. Therefore, she wants to provide them with these homemade books so they can continue to learn and have something fun to do. Isabelle’s constant positive attitude despite some minor setbacks has been refreshing to see. Her excitement and passion shows in all that she does, and we cannot wait to see how her photography and interests develop through this project!
