On Monday, each girl at Champion had to give a three minute speech. We wanted to work on their public speaking skills and confidence. They each pulled a question out of a jar and had about ten seconds to think before standing up to answer the question.
There was a lot of silence and fidgeting. Overall, though, we were incredibly impressed. Giving an impromptu three minute speech is difficult for anyone, especially a middle schooler. We are so impressed with how far they have come since we met them at the beginning of this year! Even the ones who were silent for a long time with nothing to say managed to come up with something more by the end of the three minutes.
One of the questions was, “If you could have any super power, what would it be and why?”
Her speech started with, “If I could have any super power, I would want the power to help people.”
These girls have truly come such a long way. Click here to make a donation to help these girls develop more skills and confidence!
